Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years preferred License: Valid State License required in-hand when applying Certifications: OCN, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), ONS/ONCC, ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute required in-hand when applying - Experience with Epic charting system required - Previous charge experience preferred - Travel experience required Description: This position involves working night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. The nurse will provide care in a medical-surgical oncology unit. Applicant should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Experience with patient ratios of 4 is expected. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and monitoring its effects. The role involves managing ports, IVs, and various oncological therapies. The candidate should be comfortable handling cytotoxic spills and abnormal lab values. Facilitation of patient and family education is a critical component. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams for patient support is essential. Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations is preferred. The contract length for this position is 13 weeks. Management of side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and pain is expected. Nurses will perform assessments, wound care, and support for end-of-life decisions.
