Job Description Job Description 2nd Shift CNC Machinist Job Description 2nd Shift CNC Machinist needed to join a prominent valve manufacturing company in Costa Mesa, CA. Pay will be based on experience but typically $25-$40 an hour. This role involves working from either a 1:30pm or 2:30pm start time for 9-hour shifts with opportunities for overtime on Saturdays. We welcome entry-level candidates who are eager to learn and grow. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and adjust program/offsets on CNC multi-task horizontal machining center according to engineering specifications, production drawings, production procedures, and verbal instructions. Check work in process for adherence to quality and production standards. Change settings for various production runs. Obtain and return work supplies from tool crib as needed. Maintain a clean and safe work area and equipment operating conditions. Use hand tools as required. Complete accurate production/work records. May deburr parts in completing production work. Operate jib crane and bridge crane to load and unload parts. Familiarize yourself with hitching and rigging equipment and their use. Essential Skills 1-3 years of recent experience or training in machining, ideally setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC multi-task vertical machining centers in a production environment. Considerable knowledge of methods and techniques for operating CNC multi-task vertical machining center and related hand tools and equipment. Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices. Ability to operate and adjust equipment control settings. Ability to check machined parts for conformity with work specifications and quality standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of proper fluid levels and coolant recovery. Experience with CNC (Mill or Lathe) operations is advantageous.
